Last week, our 4th graders became paleontologists! Students excavated “fossils” to investigate how evidence from the Earth helps us understand organisms that lived long ago building skills in observation, evidence collection, and using data to explain changes in Earth’s history.

Fourth graders finished off their geology unit by putting on a "Rock Show". Our 10 year old junior geologists collected rock from all around Cleveland and researched how rocks are formed and what makes up the Earth under our feet. Visitors came to view our rocks and hear what we learned about the rock cycle!
We loved the festive visit from Cleveland High School Renaissance Show Choir! They brought Christmas cheer to our 3rd-5th graders at Blythe-Bower with an amazing performance under the direction of Chip Atha. What a joyful way to celebrate the season!
Our EL department combined reading and hands-on learning as students studied the steps of building frozen castles, sketched original designs, and constructed their models using pretzels and marshmallows.
Our Blythe-Bower Choir has been working hard on some fun holiday songs, so we hope to see you at their performance on Thursday! Stay after the concert for a photo with Santa, ornament-making, and some hot cocoa and cookies.

Our 4th graders put their engineering skills to the test by creating their own renewable energy models! Students designed and built mini wind turbines, water mills, and solar panel setups, learning how each one converts natural resources into usable energy. It was an awesome hands-on way to explore science, problem-solve, and see how renewable resources can power our world.
