Cleveland High School brought graduation to Erlanger Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga for senior Ismael Palomino Davila, who is courageously battling childhood cancer and is unable to walk with his classmates at graduation.
Surrounded by family, friends, and classmates wearing blue caps and gowns, Ismael was honored with a special graduation celebration filled with cake, confetti, and Raider pride.
CHS Principal Bob Pritchard, Assistant Principal Karen Hall, and Dr. Jeff Elliott, Director of Schools, presented Ismael with his diploma during the celebration.
“This is what family looks like at Cleveland High School,” said Bob Pritchard, Principal of Cleveland High School. “Ismael is a Raider, and it was important to us that he felt the love and support of his school community as he reached this milestone. We are incredibly proud of him, and we were honored to celebrate his graduation alongside his family, friends, and classmates.”
Dr. Elliott said the moment reflected the heart of Cleveland City Schools.
“Graduation is one of the most meaningful milestones in a student’s life, and we are so grateful that Ismael could be surrounded by the people who love and support him as he received his diploma,” said Dr. Jeff Elliott, Director of Schools. “This was a beautiful reminder of what it means to be part of the Raider family.”
Cleveland City Schools extends its heartfelt appreciation to Erlanger Children’s Hospital for making it possible to celebrate this special milestone with Ismael and his loved ones.
Once a Raider, always a Raider.
