Welcome to Mayfield Elementary School! As we eagerly await the start of the 2023-2024 school year, we extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you. There are some important details we would like to share as we get ready for an exciting year ahead!

Enrollment & Registration
If you haven't enrolled your child at Mayfield Elementary yet, we kindly ask you to do so as soon as possible. The process is simple for both RETURNING and NEW students. You can easily enroll on our enrollment page here. For returning students, please be aware that failure to enroll may result in withdrawal from school and the loss of their place in a class, and we definitely want to avoid that!

Supply Lists

New School Hours
Starting in the 2023-2024 academic year, Cleveland City Schools will be implementing new school hours to ensure a more productive learning experience. Middle and high school students will attend classes from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while our elementary school students will have classes from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The school doors will open promptly at 7:45 a.m., ensuring a smooth and timely start to the day.

Reconnection Days
To make the transition back to school smoother, we have thoughtfully planned two reconnection days for our students. On Monday, August 7, students with last names beginning A-K will attend a full day of school. On Tuesday, August 8, students with last names beginning L-Z will also attend a full day. Then, on Wednesday, August 9th, we expect all students to be present for their classes.

Back to School Event
Our Back to School Event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 3. Students whose last name begins with A-K are invited from 4:00 - 5:15, and students whose last name begins with L-Z are invited from 5:45 - 7:00. Come out and meet your teacher, see your friends, and explore the building.

School Supply Lists
To prepare your child for the exciting first day of school, specific school supply lists are available on our website. These lists will ensure your child is well-prepared and ready to embrace the challenges that await them in the classroom.

Transportation Details
For those who have registered their child for transportation services, you will receive a notification about their bus number, stop, and pick-up time approximately one week before classes commence, provided they are eligible for bus transportation. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our transportation department at 423-472-9576.

PowerSchool
We highly encourage all our families to make use of PowerSchool, a powerful tool that allows you to access essential information about your child's schedules, grades, and attendance.

Additional Information
We are excited to announce that all students will receive breakfast and lunch free of charge, ensuring they have the nourishment they need for a productive day of learning.

Lastly, we kindly remind parents that students arriving after 8:30 AM will be considered tardy and must be checked in by our office staff.
